After university, Judit moved to Vancouver, then to Vancouver Island. Now married, she resides in Black Creek with her family.
Portrait Artist’s Journey
Her early work was mainly in clay, creating portraits and figurative sculptures of live models; the portrait artist soon became noted for her ability to produce lifelike reproductions based on photographs.
She is often commissioned to create busts of individuals, pets, wildlife, and even celebrities: “Whatever the client is looking for,” she notes. She has won awards in both Hungary and Canada for her portrait sculptures and her abstract work.
Her commissions are made from a variety of materials including fired clay, glazed pieces, driftwood, and plaster casts. More recently, she has added cast stone to her repertoire. She says, “It has become wildly popular, as it makes fantastic garden art.”
