Sweet Inner Child of Mine

Sweet inner child of mine
Dancing in the dappled sunlight on the kitchen floor,
Chasing lit-up dust particles
Like stars straight from heaven,
Playing with my mother’s glass elephant gently
Under the coffee table
Lost in daydreams of innocence
With no tomorrows in sight.

Where are you,
Sweet inner child of mine?
Where did you go?
Are you still hiding in the closet,
Waiting to be found?
My dear,
That game ended years ago.
All those friends have moved on.

It’s a new game now.
Now, my darling, you must seek your Self.

Poem from Jennifer’s book:

Rise Queen Rise
