Campbell River photographer Moira Le Patourel has spent the last decade working around the world as an expedition leader, photography instructor/guide, naturalist, zodiac driver, kayak guide, and lecturer.
A fascination with the natural world inspired her to complete a Diploma of Technology in Renewable Resources: Fish, Wildlife and Outdoor Recreation, which led to finding her niche as an expedition leader and guide on the coast of British Columbia in 2008. Here, her passion for wild things and wild places, combined with a quest for knowledge and a love of sharing it, became a lifestyle.
Moira has spent 12 years guiding in the Great Bear Rainforest, privileged to share her time with the whales, the bears, the wolves, and the people that travel the world to see such wonders.
Expedition guiding has taken her to the Northwest Passage, Svalbard (Norway), Greenland, Churchill (Manitoba), Great Bear Rainforest (British Columbia), the Amazon, South America, China, and Antarctica.
