FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER: MICHAEL HACK

Born and raised in Campbell River, Michael Hack has always had a passion for the outdoors. As much of his time as possible is spent hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, and exploring the Island’s hard-to-reach places.

This love for nature spawned an interest in photography—a natural evolution as he started to bring a camera on adventures to capture and share his experiences. His photography continues to be inspired by the Island’s rugged coastal landscapes and the diverse wildlife that call Vancouver Island home. Each hike, sunset, and wildlife encounter continues to build his appreciation for how truly special and unique the region is.

Michael’s love for the Island and photography have resulted in opportunities to support and work with the tourism industry. He enjoys collaborating with people and businesses that offer tourists and locals alike unique ways to experience the coast, from whale watching and bear viewing to kayak excursions and salmon fishing resorts.

Michael hopes his photos will inspire others to experience, protect, and preserve the coast and its unique ecosystems for generations to come.
