FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER: COLIN PENDZIWOL

Colin has always been drawn to photography’s ability to preserve and share life’s experiences. He enjoyed taking photos with the family point-and-shoot camera while they backpacked around South America in 2007, and later began shooting his own adventures, both at home and abroad, with a GoPro.

Colin didn’t take photography seriously until, in late 2019, he picked up his first interchangeable lens camera. Then in 2020, Colin moved from his hometown of Thunder Bay, ON, to Campbell River. He found Vancouver Island a haven, with its diverse landscapes and ecosystems. He’s fallen in love with exploring everywhere—from the mountains to the coast—always with a camera in hand.

Colin’s deeply rooted passion for the outdoors translates into his imagery. His focus is on the natural world featuring landscapes, portraits, wildlife, and sports. He has collaborated with resorts like Mount Washington with his favourite activities to photograph being snow, surf, and mountain biking, all of which he can be found pursuing himself. The camera gives him a creative outlet and he’s always learning new techniques and experimenting with ideas. He hopes his work will inspire others to get outside and experience the beauty of our natural world.
