Christina’s 13 years of experience as an art education specialist has been an opportunity to witness the transformative power of curiosity, empathy, and hands-on experimentation through exposure to a wide variety of ideas, artists, world views, and stories.
Her work has included roles as an educator and family programs coordinator at the Vancouver Art Gallery (VAG), 2011–22), developing activated visual literacy spaces such as Cumberland Museum & Archives‘ (CMA) Collaboration Studio, co-creation of the Young Activist Reading Room at the VAG, development of tactile visual arts programs at the Cumberland Lodge, and curation of the CMA’s collaboration rooted exhibition, OFF THE PRESS!
Christina is currently facilitating community rooted arts programs on the unceded ancestral territory of the Sahtloot, Sasitla, Ieeksun, and Puntledge as the founder and director of Tiny Pencil Studio, and as a board member of the Comox Valley Arts Council. She operates on the unceded territory of the Liǧʷiɫdax̌ʷ people; the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum, and Kwiakah First Nations as Gallery Manager at the Campbell River Art Gallery.
Christina studied Visual Art at the University of Western Ontario (B.A.) and Art Education at the University of British Columbia (M.A.).
