Mikey Parsons is a wildlife photographer based in Campbell River. His photography journey began with commercial photography in his native England. Mikey’s early fascination with wildlife sparked a desire to explore new cultures and see what the world had to offer. During his travels, he discovered he could combine his love for nature with his growing photography skills.
For Mikey, connecting with nature gave him direction. The diverse landscapes and conservation efforts he encountered during his travels inspired him to advocate for the environment through his art. He believes that powerful wildlife imagery can play a pivotal role in conservation by showcasing the beauty of the natural world and encouraging others to protect it.
After relocating to Canada, Mikey found Vancouver Island, with its rich wildlife and pristine landscapes, the perfect place to pursue his passion. Mikey has spent time in environmentally conscious communities such as Strathcona Park Lodge, and has also collaborated with Greenways Land Trust and the Cetus Research & Conservation Society in support of their conservation initiatives.
