Featured Photographer: Baxter Redfern

Baxter Redfern first picked up a camera in high school, snapping photos of his friends while they were all out BMXing. While he didn’t think much of it at the time, it wasn’t long before he became drawn to the art of capturing a moment. That early curiosity turned into a career that took him across North America, working with a wide range of clients from small, local businesses to larger, household brands.

Baxter is the owner and operator of Redfern Media Co., based in Qualicum Beach, BC. He creates photo and video content for brands and businesses of all sizes, with a focus on delivering visuals that feel authentic.

The creative process is what drives him. From initial concept to final delivery, he enjoys figuring out how to translate an idea into a strong visual story using lighting, composition, movement, and editing.

Baxter is known for his clean, creative style, and his versatility across many niches in both photography and videography, including action sports, architectural, environmental portraits, and weddings.

“Keeping diversity in front of my lens pushes me out of my comfort zone and forces me to keep learning new techniques. I’m very passionate about that. Plus I love seeing the joy a photo or video can bring. Nothing beats that.”
