Jennifer is the Executive Director of Comox Valley Arts, but she is also a nonprofit hustler, convener across sectors, an arts administrator, teacher, and practicing visual artist. She brings over decade of experience working in the arts sector from a variety of vantage points, from teaching and program design to nonprofit management consulting. Jennifer is passionate about the intersectionality of arts and social and environmental work and aims to connect the arts to other initiatives to bring together a less siloed and collaborative nonprofit sector. Through her work, she aims to show how art and education can make positive social change in communities and neighbourhoods. Jennifer seeks to learn, listen, and understand the ongoing violence and trauma that is part of the structure of colonialism, and in this role, aims to participate personally and professionally in decolonization and reconciliation efforts.
