Alick Mac is a rapper, singer, and songwriter based in the Comox Valley. His style is defined by honest, vulnerable songwriting, evidenced by his award-winning single, “Easier to Shout,” which tackles traditional concepts of masculinity. Alick’s versatile artistry can be heard in recent releases “500 Days,” a melancholic piano ballad, and “World in My Palm,” an infectious pop-rap track about digital addiction.
In 2024, Alick earned second place in the Music in Motion Canada Awards. He followed this up with a win at the Zattzoo Project Battle of the Bands in Port Alberni in May 2025. The following month he performed at Lillaby Festivalen, a music festival in southern Sweden. He was also a runner-up in the Shipyards Got Talent awards in North Vancouver in both 2024 and 2025.
In August 2025, Alick’s one-man show, Boys’ Club, won second place in the “Pick of the Fringe” category (as voted by audience members) at the Nanaimo Fringe Festival. Mixing personal anecdotes with original songs, Boys’ Club offers reflections on masculinity, misogyny, and mental health. Alick will perform at the Edmonton Fringe Festival in August 2026.
