BECAUSE I AM QUEEN

I wear a crown of many eyes

that sees right through your bullshit lies.

My throne is made from all the bones

Of hurtful people I have known.

My art is there to set you back

Perhaps give you a heart attack.

Damage is as damage done

I am not alone, nor the only one.

I am here to Seize My Day!

You don’t like it, turn away.

Return to where you once came from.

Don’t hang around and ruin my fun.

Yes I am the Royal Queen this time

And your bullshit is just out of line.

To where I am in current place

So get the f*** out of my face.

Guards! Release the hounds!

Get that boiling oil poured down.

Let the arrows fly sharp and shiny

Don’t get hit in your heinie

As you run away…

POEM BY KAREN DAY

IF I WAS A SNOWFLAKE

I will form in clouds, I would go around the world, over seven seas and round and round!

Fall down to the ground and see what else to see, cover the whole world with pieces of me.

I was rolled up into a ball, hurled through the air and hit something hard.

A long time later I seemed to fall apart, I got very sweaty, all the way to the heart.

Soon I was flowing, with a lot of other me’s, into the ocean and sucked back up.

I froze again, I fell again, this time I did not melt.

UNTITLED

rain falls on grey-green

trees blur to watercolour

I am whole slowly

BIRDS

Birds are singing, oh.

A beautiful sound it is.

Carried on the wind.
