Sophie abhors writing bios but tries to comply when deemed necessary. She grew up in Cumberland, BC, and now lives across the Salish Sea in Powell River where she runs Heartwood Massage, a small home-based massage practice. In her free time, you can find her roaming the woods with her dog Lupin, gardening, or devouring words. Occasionally she can also be found stringing them together in her own compositions. Her art and writing is inspired by human relationships as well as our relationships to the places and things we surround ourselves with. She has a keen interest in exploring non-human perspectives and how this can shift our own perspectives and relationships with the objects and places around us. A selection of her poetry can be found in the anthology Drift: Poems and Poets from the Comox Valley.
