After moving to the Valley in 1983, Roger taught sociology at North Island College before retiring in 2012. He served on the College Board as a faculty representative for several years and has chaired a number of boards including the CV Art Gallery and (currently) the Cumberland Museum. He is also involved in housing issues with the Village of Cumberland and other organizations. In his free time, Roger writes in his blog, draws, paints and makes intaglio and relief prints. He loves the outdoors and hanging out with his family. Long walks in the Cumberland Forest make him happy even when his old body protests.
