Randy discovered his calling for heavy timber construction in the mid-90s, after several degrees in Mechanical Engineering (US). His training, skills and passion for craft make him a respected heavy timber designer, tradesman, problem-solver, and project manager. Based in Courtenay, BC, he dedicates his time to challenging building projects of interest and promotion of quality woodworking in general. He has been very active with the Timber Framers Guild for many years as a Director, President and Project Manager (a non-profit educational group dedicated to the craft). Personal time is often spent hiking with wife Margaret and their dog pal Jet on local trails.
