Linda and her husband moved to the Comox Valley in 1982. After seven years as the executive secretary to North Island College’s president, she left the public sector and entered the private as an entrepreneur by starting her home-based business, McLean Productions. As she writes in her memoir, Route 1-75 • Memoir & Musings from My 75-Year Road Trip, her husband died in 1996; after going through that roller-coaster emotional time, Linda became a “new-me… not better, just different.” In her memoir, Linda shares the stories of that journey, and many others—from growing up in Saskatoon to her “refirement” on Vancouver Island. Several readers encouraged her to get her stories “out there more,” so she researched audio-recordings, learned how to produce them, and in 2025 released weekly episodes on her “My 75-Year Road Trip” podcast. Linda supports our community as a volunteer, benefactor, and teacher.
