Chad has been interested in writing for many years and has written casually for about ten years. Completing projects has been his Achilles heel, which is one reason he so loves the three-hour structure of a writing contest. It guarantees completion. “I like the pressure-cooker situation of ‘writing yourself out of the room’ in three hours,” he says.
This is his first published work and hopes it is the start of a trend. Chad is deeply grateful to the Comox Valley Writers Society, the judges of the North Island Writers Conference, and all the sponsors of the Writers Conference, including NIC, Laughing Oyster Bookshop, the CV Collective, the CVRD, Friesen Press, and the Comox Valley Record.
