Emily Palmer (who works under the name Emily Gale) is an experienced photographer and a proud K’ómoks First Nation community member. After several years in Alberta, she has returned home to Vancouver Island. Now based in beautiful Comox, she is reconnecting with her roots and rediscovering her lifelong passion for photography. She says, “I feel incredibly grateful to do what I love, right here in the community I call home.”

Photography is more than just a profession for Palmer—it’s a way of celebrating love, culture, and the people who matter most. Her career is inspired by her son, who was diagnosed with autism at a young age. “Photography is a language more universal than words,” she says, “and he has taught me how to capture life differently.”

Palmer specializes in engagements, maternity sessions, couples, and families, with a focus on capturing real moments and meaningful connections. Whether it’s the excitement of a new chapter, the quiet strength of motherhood, or the everyday beauty of family life, she aims to tell stories that are heartfelt, natural, and deeply personal.
